Community Engagement and Education
COTA Tasmania is committed to supporting older Tasmanians, their families, and communities through education, awareness, and connection.
Funded by the Tasmanian Government and delivered in partnership with community organisations, businesses, and volunteers, our sessions aim to promote wellbeing, reduce isolation, and enable respectful aging.
What We Offer
We provide a broad range of information and education sessions tailored to the needs of communities and organisations, including:
- Lifelong Respect | elder abuse prevention, rights, and referral pathways
- Ageing Your Way | ageism awareness and positive ageing
- Care Finder | support with aged care navigation and advocacy
- Staying Well and Connected|health, fitness, scams awareness, fire safety, technology, and more (through our trusted partnerships)
- Community Events|Seniors Week, WEAAD activities, intergenerational programs
Our sessions are delivered statewide, both in person and online, with content co-designed alongside community members, volunteers, and expert partners.
By offering practical information, tools, and resources, we empower individuals, build stronger communities, and support service providers to create age-friendly, respectful spaces. Each session is designed to educate, connect, and amplify community voices, while also contributing to key actions in the Older Tasmanians Action Plan 2025–2029.
