Acknowledgement of Country
COTA Tasmania acknowledges with deep respect the resilience and knowledge of the palawa people, the traditional custodians of lutruwita. We value the wisdom of Aboriginalelders past and present and the role they play in continuing to care for Country.

Valuing the Ageing Journey

We value the diverse voices of older Tasmanians, and we learn from their experiences.

LGBTQI+ Community

We acknowledge LGBTIQ+ advocates, friends, and allies whose courage and strength have helped to make this a more just society for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and intersex populations and their friends and families. Their commitment to change, their resistance, and courage to achieve justice have impacted all of us to some degree. For some of us, there is ongoing hurt, anger, or frustration. We are mindful of this in both the way we work and engage with others.

Cultural Diversity

COTA Tasmania celebrates and embraces cultural diversity that enhances our communities. We acknowledge and appreciate all Tasmanians, including older Tasmanians, have unique perspectives, traditions, and contributions from diverse cultural backgrounds. Our commitment to fostering an inclusive environment by valuing and respecting the differences that make each person unique, we strive to create a workplace and community that reflects and promotes collaboration, understanding, and unity.
