Representation in the Community

We run programs, workshops, and events to empower older Tasmanians. From community sessions to informative workshops, our work connects, supports, and advocates for positive ageing across the state.

Engaging with our community

COTA Tasmania delivers a wide range of programs, events, and workshops designed to support and uplift older people in our communities. Whether it’s practical information sessions, digital inclusion training, or forums on health and wellbeing, our initiatives are tailored to listening and learning about the real needs of Tasmanians as they age.

We engage with local communities across urban and regional areas, ensuring access and inclusion for all. Through these activities, we help older people stay informed, connected, and confident in making choices that support their independence and quality of life.

Representation in the Community

COTA Tasmania advocates for older Tasmanians by ensuring their voices are heard where decisions are made. We actively represent the interests of older Tasmanians in a wide range of consumer groups, networks, and advisory committees. We also sit on various Government and Local Council working groups.

We meet regularly with the Minister of Ageing, Bridget Archer MP and her advisors to ensure they are briefed and aware of the issues older Tasmanians are telling us is important to them.

Through this representation, we bring the perspectives of older Tasmanians directly into government, community, and industry discussions, helping to shape more inclusive, age-friendly policies and practices.
