Come and join us for Council on the Ageing’s (COTA’s) first Ageing Together Expo!  This is a new event for Tasmanians of every age, with a focus on ageing.

The Expo is about more than support services.  It’s about recognising the knowledge, skills, experience and contributions older people bring to our community every day, and finding ways to connect and collaborate to fight ageism.

On the International day of Older Persons, come along to C3 Convention Centre, 64 Anglesea Street, South Hobart to explore a range of stalls, activities and talks from community groups, government agencies, businesses and local organisations.  Discover practical ideas, programs and opportunities that help people stay connected to their communities and make the most of life.

Date: Thursday 1 October 2026
Time: 11:00 am to 2:00 pm
Venue: C3 Convention Centre, South Hobart

Explore the Beyond Age photography exhibition

Take time to explore our Beyond Age photography exhibition, featuring portraits of more than 40 Tasmanians alongside their words, reflections and life experiences.

Beyond Age shares the people and stories behind the portraits, encouraging us to look beyond age and recognise the experiences, contributions and individuality of older Tasmanians. It also invites conversations about ageism and how we can build communities where people are respected and valued at every age.

Learn, connect and discover at more than 50 stalls

More than 50 organisations will be taking part on the day, offering information, interactive activities, practical advice and opportunities to get involved in community life.

You can meet local organisations, discover new programs and activities, learn about available services and find useful ideas to take home with you.

There will also be a series of small classroom sessions throughout the Expo, featuring short talks and activities about ageism and a range of other topics that matter to Tasmanians as they age.

Whatever your age or stage of life, you are welcome to come along. Bring a friend, family member or neighbour and join us for a free day of learning, conversation, connection and celebration.
