World Elder Abuse Awareness Day, or WEAAD, is recognised annually on June 15th to highlight the issue of elder abuse and promote respect for all people.

COTA Tasmania has held WEAAD Walks across Tasmania since 2015 in Launceston, Burnie, Devonport and Hobart.

Over several years, the focus of the annual walks has expanded to include other activities as a call to action.

COTA Tasmania is committed to continuing to promote awareness and advocate for responses to preventing and ending elder abuse.
