We are thrilled to hear of the Liberal Party’s commitment to appointing a Minister for Ageing, with Bridget Archer MP now formally appointed to the role. Tasmania is the last state to establish a dedicated ministerial portfolio, and we are proud that our advocacy and ongoing discussions with Government has enabled this genuine commitment to addressing the challenges and opportunities that come with ageing to be both recognised and resourced. We note the Labor Party has named ageing within a ministerial portfolio, combined with the health portfolio. We look forward working collaboratively with all elected members to ensure the issues important to older Tasmanians are heard and respected
We are looking forward to working with Minister Archer to support older Tasmanians and create an age friendly Tasmania for all.
