“Ageism is at the heart of aged care failure”

“How we talk about older people primes us to care less and spend less” says Dr Susan Banks

Dr Susan Banks is a researcher in health, ageing and disability at the University of Tasmania. Her opinion piece, “Ageism is at the heart of aged care failure”, appeared in the Mercury on 6 November 2019. It argues that how we talk about older people primes us to care less and spend less.
