Generations Connect: Tech Together
Generations Connect: Tech Together is an intergenerational initiative led by COTA Tasmania. The program trains young Tasmanians to become Young Digital Mentors, equipping them with the skills to provide one-on-one technology support to older adults living in residential aged care homes.
Over six to ten weeks, students/young people and residents meet an hour weekly to share stories, build friendships, and learn practical digital skills together.
From using smartphones and tablets to exploring online communication and creativity, the program not only helps older Tasmanians feel more confident with technology but also creates meaningful connections across generations.

Our program secures funding from the Tasmanian Community Fund
COTA Tasmania is pleased to announce that Generations Connect: Tech Together is now expanding statewide, with funding from the Tasmanian Community Fund supporting the program over the next five years. The program brings young digital mentors together with older Tasmanians living in residential aged care, helping build digital confidence while creating opportunities to share stories, skills and experiences.
We thank the residential aged care homes, schools, teachers, students and young mentors who have helped make the program a success. We also sincerely thank the Tasmanian Community Fund for supporting this next chapter and helping us bring Generations Connect: Tech Together to more communities across Tasmania.
