Christmas can be joyful and sometimes a little heavy too

Christmas is often a time of joy and togetherness, but for some it can also bring feelings of loneliness, grief or stress. If this festive season feels difficult, support is available. These services are here throughout the holidays to listen, guide and support you when you need it most.

Christmas is often spoken about as the happiest time of the year. For many people it brings family gatherings, shared meals, familiar traditions and moments of joy.

But for others, this season can feel very different. Feelings of loneliness, grief, stress or worry can become stronger at Christmas, especially if you are missing someone, feeling unwell, or finding the season overwhelming. This is more common than many people realise.

If Christmas feels hard this year, please know you are not alone. Support is available, and there are caring people ready to listen, guide and support you through the festive season.
