COTA Tasmania and Mental Health Families and Friends Tasmania have collaborated to raise awareness of the role that senior Tasmanians play supporting a family member or friends mental wellbeing. Â
The Tasmanian Government, in partnership with Aspen Medical Group, is running COVID-19 vaccination clinics for people who may require additional support. The clinics are for people living with disability and/or mental illness, their carers, disability support workers, and people who have anxiety.
Tasmania has the oldest population in the country, with around 20 per cent of Tasmanian residents aged
65 or over. Despite this, there is currently no tailored mental health response for older Tasmanians.
